Mirza Radonjica, bedst kendt som den karismatiske vokalist i SIAMESE, er nu klar med sit nye soloprojekt AFTERLOVE. I tæt samarbejde med producerne Zac Allen (IF NOT FOR ME), Zack Baker (RAIN CITY DRIVE) og Luka Rozaka (TEN56.) har han skabt debutalbummet ‘Copenhagen Closure’ – en samling af sange drevet af rå energi og spontanitet.

As frontman Emil Breuning grappled with the loss of his father and the life-altering experience of becoming one, he produced a cathartic outpouring ultimately brought life to DEATHKOAN. A method to navigate the emotional storm and come out on the other side with something honest, raw, and alive—a journey that reflects the contrasts of life itself—music became a sanctuary and an instrument of healing amidst the depths of depression.

DEATHKOAN delivers a genre-defying blend of heavy guitars, menacing electronica, and melancholic soundscapes paired with lyrics full of catharsis and hope. The project seeks to connect with those who feel out of place, offering a space where vulnerability and strength coexist. It's music for those who refuse to shy away from their shadows and instead learn to thrive within them.

The debut single, DESTROYER, epitomizes these contrasts. Beneath its aggressive title lies a heartfelt love letter to Emil’s son, written during a period of emotional chaos. Reflecting on the joy of building wooden towers for his son to gleefully knock down, Emil describes the song as a tribute to love born out of destruction:

"One of my greatest joys was building towers out of wooden blocks for my son to knock down. Exploring the darker, melancholic tone in the music in contrast to lyrics born from love felt natural—almost necessary—in that period."

DEATHKOAN’s music captures the balance of creation and destruction, despair and joy, illustrating the transformative power of resilience. It serves as a reminder that, as Emil puts it, “night must come before day, darkness follows light, and it’s in the shadows that we bloom.”

DEATHKOAN has partnered with producer MADS ZELASNY, whose expertise has helped breathe life and character into their sonic landscape and added a cinematic quality that elevates each track into something immersive and larger-than-life.

As DEATHKOAN moves into 2025, the band will continuously release music, building a body of work that culminates in the EP LIFE BEFORE LIES A LIFETIME AWAY in late 2025. Each release will explore the recurring themes of loss, destruction, renewal, and the contrasts of human existence, ensuring the project grows alongside its listeners. The EP is mixed and mastered by danish CHRIS KREUTZFELDT, known for working on projects like CABAL, SIAMESE & GHOST IRIS.
