Horror Vacui:
Horror Vacui is a five-piece post-punk/death-rock band from Bologna, Italy. Formed in 2011 by singer Koppa, HV emerged during the first wave of the modern post-punk revival, alongside underground bands of friends like The Estranged, Spectres, Belgrado and more. All five members are active in the DIY punk and underground scene and are involved in other ongoing projects (Marthe, Vespertina, Morgana and Allerta!).

Since forming, Horror Vacui has toured extensively across Europe (2012, 2013, 2015, 2018), the U.S. (2014, 2017), Mexico and Colombia (2019), and most recently England (2024). Following the pandemic and a lineup change, the band has just completed recording their fifth full-length album, slated for release in 2025.

HV has shared the stage with The Chameleons, She Past Away, Molchat Doma, Belgrado, Sect, Spectres, The Bellicose Minds, Sunn O))), Drab Majesty, Lydia Lunch, TSOL, Christian Death, Goblin, Lathe Of Heaven, Messa and more.

Horror Vacui blends early ’80s goth with post-punk in a horror-tinged sound. Their name reflects a signature style built on tight, guitar-driven songs, sing-along hooks and vocal lines many of which have become modern goth anthems as for “In Darkness You Will Feel Alright”. Fans of Corpus Delicti, Sisters of Mercy, Christian Death and Killing Joke will find familiar ground, but their catalog reaches far beyond nostalgia. Their lyrics explore identity, darkness, society and the human psyche
with a raw, punk-rooted urgency that also defines their live presence and political ethos.
