Our fifth Vinterjazz Festival 2027 announcement is American retro futuristic artpop duo MOTHERMARY!
Named after the mother of Christ—the ultimate symbol of religious hypocrisy and the impossible expectations placed upon women—the project was created by identical twins Elyse and Larena. They grew up in a strict Mormon family in Missoula, Montana, as the youngest of nearly twelve children. "That was our world... our worldview," Larena says of that time. "We had been brainwashed."
