Det bliver intimt og nærværende når indie folk singer songwriter Axel Flóvent fra Island kommer forbi Stengade d. 2 november.
Axel Flóvent:
Axel Flóvent is an indie-folk singer and songwriter from Húsavík, Iceland. After spending years in Reykjavík and living abroad, he has returned to his hometown, where the quiet landscapes and slower rhythms continue to shape the tone of his music. His sound sits somewhere between melancholic indie folk and atmospheric indie rock, with gentle threads of ambient and electronic influence. Artists like Bon Iver, Adrianne Lenker, and Bombay Bicycle Club echo through his work, though Axel’s writing carries a calm, distinctly Nordic character of its own.
Music has been a constant presence in Axel’s life. Growing up surrounded by the musicians in his family - his brother, father, and uncles - he learned through participation and instinct. Sharing early demos online became his way of exploring that world, and those first home recordings eventually led to a global audience. His breakout track, “Forest Fires,” has since surpassed 90 million streams and remains a cornerstone of his catalog.
Across five EPs and two albums, Axel has developed a songwriting style centered on emotional insight and inner reflection. His creative process often begins with a simple instrumental idea and improvised lyrics that gradually evolve into fully formed songs. Rather than chasing literal meaning, he follows the emotional truth of each phrase, letting feeling guide the structure.
Axel has toured throughout Europe and North America, performing both his own headline shows and opening for artists including Ásgeir, Mumford & Sons, The Paper Kites, and Radical Face. Along the way, he has worked with respected producers such as Ian Grimble and MyRiot.
Now back in Húsavík, Axel continues to craft music that offers listeners a sense of space, clarity, and quiet hope. His new releases “Nowhere” (December 19th 2025), “In The Grass” (January 30th 2026) and his self-produced EP Fleeing the Shore (mixed by Philip Weinrobe), set for released on April 24th 2026, mark the beginning of a new chapter in his artistic evolution.
