Lørdag d. 21 februar spiller Amerikanske Xasthur sit andet show nogensinde i Europa og sammen med Uppsalas Lukas Häger har vi to dissonante, afskallede solosæt at se frem til. Pafund skyder aftenen i gang med dystert, atmosfærisk og stemningsfuldt Dungeon Synth.

Koncerten er en del af Vinterjazz Festivalen.

Xasthur: 
Many black metal artists glorify and write lyrics about loneliness but few actually lived it. Scott Connor from Alhambra, California is the exception. A lone wolf that never even bothered with band mates but instead started his one-man band Xasthur in 1995.With dark and angst-ridden lyrics Xasthur became one of the founding fathers of the genre DSBM. The soundscape stood out from the start; thick and floaty at the same time, considerably murky, eerie and almost hallucinogenic. Many grew up with Xasthur and a generation of gloomy black metal fans had albums such as ”Nocturnal Poisoning” and ”Telepathic with the Deceased” spinning on repeat in the early 2000’s. For a long time it was said that Scott would never play live and the band was put to rest 2010, but after being reincarnated and taking on a new expression in 2015 he slowly started to find his way on to the roads. Today Xasthur is an acoustic neofolk/black metal project and during 2026 we will see Xasthur live in Europe for the first time, with Stengade being the second show on the tour!

+ Special Guest: Lukas Häger
The gifted child from Uppsala, Lukas Häger, is and has been involved in several noticeable bands such as No Future or Reveal! but alongside this he has always had his solo project. It is Lukas and his guitar and nothing else is needed. It’s dissonant and melancholic, but most importantly it shows that you don’t need neither vocals nor a whole orchestra to evoke strong emotions or deliver dramatic performances. Those of us that has seen Lukas before, we know. Those who haven’t are in for a treat.

Denne aften vil Pafund fejre sit 10-års jubilæum med en rejse gennem projektets ni mørke, mystiske og magiske udgivelser. Gamle melodier vil blive nyfortolket og nye toner vil blive fremført.
